A central New York woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for shooting to death her boyfriend while he was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher.
Brenda M. Newkirk of Conquest pleaded guilty Thursday in Cayuga County Court. Sheriff's deputies say Henry Davis called 911 on Oct. 28, 2012 to report he was a victim of domestic abuse by Newkirk, but the call was cut short. Officials say Newkirk called 911 minutes later and told them she shot Davis. Newkirk will receive a sentence of 18 to 22 years to life at her sentencing Aug. 1.
