I live in a 100 year old home in Erieville. My favorite hobby is work on that old house and it keeps me busy. This year, I put on a new porch floor and fixed the siding outside and put in a new floor upstairs. It was too much for me to tackle, but usually I try and do my own work with some help from friends and family. I am a single Mom with three beautiful children. They are all country music fans. I have been in radio for many years and in fact, my mother was a radio personality. I guess that is where I get it from. I get a real kick out of doing charity work and attend many of the events here in CNY. I would have to say that the CMA win was the high point in my career. It just doesn't get any better than that and it is thanks to you who listen to us and support us each and every morning. It wouldn't have happened without you. In my mind, it was a win for Central New York. I love working with Tom Owens. We have quickly become best friends.
A longtime on air ClearChannel personality now part of the Tom & Becky Morning Show. He spent most of his professional career with Verizon Communications as the director of external affairs and corporate foundation. Tom’s a past member of the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Syracuse Stage Board of Directors, St. Camillus Foundation. Syracuse University School of Visual & Performing Arts Advisory Board. Most important is his family: Wife Laurel, and their five children - Kristen, Jill, Tim, Danielle, and Allison.
I had the privledge of meeting Will McKinney, Seargeant, in the Army with the 10th Mountain Division, 2-87 Infantry this past week-end. He threw out he first pitch at the wounded warriors week-end at the baseball stadium. I escorted him to pitchers mound and got to hang out with him for awhile. I am writing about him because he inspired me. I have met a lot of stars over the years...Reba, Tim, Garth, Zac Brown...so many. This young man was the one that has inspired me the most though. Will had his leg blown off in Afghanistan. He said it took awhile to get his spirit back...but boy did he get it back. He was literally running out to the Pitchers Mound with such a lively spirit, that I could hardly keep up with him. He is turning his life into a wonderful story. He is a student at OCC and studying hard. He is a handsome young man with such a bubbly personality...he just took me by suprise. I will never forget how he changed me. Thanks Will. - Becky
On Thursday, authorities were searching for two passengers believed to have gone overboard on a cruise ship off Australia's east coast.
The pair wasn't discovered missing until the Carnival Spirit docked in Sydney, wrapping up a ten night cruise. The 30 year old man and 26 year old woman were traveling with family and friends.
The ship's surveilance cameras captured the couple on deck and it's believed they went overboard from the boats mid-deck level on Wednesday night, but it's not clear if they fell or jumped.
In a statement, Carnival said there was no evidence of foul play, but they dclined to disclose the details about what actually happened to the couple out of respect for the families.
I'm thinking that I wouldn't want to take a cruise with Carnival. -Becky
Here they are for this upcoming NYS Fair:
Toby Keith 08-23 - tickets $65/$55/$45
Reba 08-25 tickets $55/$45/$35
Luke Bryan 08-29 $70/$60/$50
Thursday is the big day to find out who is coming to the New York State Fair this year. I already know who is coming as I write this, but my lips are sealed. I am very happy with the line-up. Who would you like to see? There are so many shows this summer. We are very lucky in Central New York. - Becky
SENIOR (AND MOM) HAS PHOTO REMOVED FROM YEARBOOK
Caitlin Tiller is a senior at Wheatmore High School in North Carolina. Not only is she about to graduate, but she is also the mom of a one-year- old little boy. But her photo won't be appearing in her senior yearbook. The photo, taken with her son in her arms, was removed from the yearbook by administrators before going to print. Apparently, school officials thought the photo would somehow promote teen pregnancy.
Here's the kicker: She was fulfilling a school-mandated request to make yearbook pics more personal. Students were asked to bring something to pose with that showcases "an achievement" or "best represents them." Caitlin obviously chose her son. (Cosmo)
Just Asking ... What do you think? Should Caitlin have been allowed to have a photo with her son in the yearbook? Why or why not?
