About Ron:
I live in Clay.  I'm married and the father of an 18 year old son.  Jonathan graduates from high school this year with honors and will be attending college at SUNY Oswego for Business Administration and Marketing.  If all goes well he'll graduate in the year 2011.  His mama is spending a little more time worrying these days as you can imagine.  I'm trying to figure out how to pay for it all.
I have over 35 years of broadcast experience.  I've worked at many stations of note here in Central New York including WOLF, WSEN, WRRB, and WSYR, but WBBS (B104.7) by far is my favorite.  I have been here for almost 13 years now.  Ten of those years I have teamed up with Becky.  Becky and I were so very fortunate to win a CMA award in 2004 for Personality of the Year in a Medium Market.  To say the least, that was the highlight of my career in radio.  This year (2007) we were honored to nominated for an ACM Award for Personalities of the Year in a Medium Market.  We didn't win, but you know what they say...being nominated felt really good.  This year we hope to try out for another CMA...but they are so very hard to win.  Can God bless us twice?

Oh My God, Can You Believe It?

I think someone once told me..."when you are down, He shall lift you up!"  Well, that's exactly what happened this past week.  Here I am riding home from the VA Hospital with my wife when the cell phone rings.  On the other end is Becky sounding quite excited.  I thought maybe we were nominated for another CMA Award.  No, not this time.  Rich Lauber gets on the line and tells me I've been nominated by someone for the Country Radio DJ Hall of Fame.  For those of you who heard the call played back on the air the next morning...it was quite embarrassing.  Both Tina and I were crying in surprise.  It is such a great honor.  Since then I have received many wonderful phone calls and emails, and now I have found out some of you fans have started a website where you can voice your vote.  The address is www.freewebs.com/nominateronbee
Just got to that sight and follow instructions and you may just help me get into the Hall of Fame.  And wouldn't that be somethin'.  So, to whomever nominated me...thank you so very much and to everybody voting for me..thank you too.  Love and peace...Ron
This has been a busy week!

I can't believe how many people actually read these blogs, but now I hear that Rich is promoting it on the air, so I can see why.  This has been a busy week.  I've spent alot of time at the VA Hospital.  Nothing to do with my surgery, but it did wear me out alot and the pain in my back and shoulders has returned with a vengence.  Pt helped a little bit with Stacy at Fitness Forum, but I think I need to get back into the therapy pool with the 91 degree water.  I always felt better in there.  Dr. Gingold expect a phone call.  Becky stopped over last week.  I heard she was telling everyone on air that I was looking good.  Boy she does need glasses.  I was stretched out in my recliner with my hair shaved off, and my collar on and my voice gone...if that was good...the war's over in Iraq.  We did have a nice chat though, and thanks for the fruit Becky.  We got bad news about Jonathan yesterday...if we didn't have enough already.  He needs to have four wisdom teeth extracted..and he's scared to death.  Another hugh bill that we can't pay for....but the dentist said he take payments...thank God.  Well it's time to go.  Again thank you for your prayers and kind thoughts.  Peace and love....Ron.
Rumors are a flyin! Here's the skinny!

As you know, I have been trying to work through some complications after surgery.  It's been a tough road.  Because of the slow recuperation lots of rumors have been flying about concerning my demise.  I'm not dead yet.  The doctor has listed me as 'temporarily totally disabled'.  What this means is that I can not return to work until he says so.  How long will that be...I don't know.  It could be three months, it could be a year.  It could turn into a permanent disability for all I know.  But right now that's where it stands.  Rich Lauber and the radio station have been standing behind be 100 per cent and I can only say thank you to them for that.  Tom Owen has been doing a great job filling in and I thank him for that as well.  I'm sorry Tom that it has turned into a longer gig than you expected.  Becky I know you are worried, but you are a talented personality on your own, and you will survive no matter what.  So, that's the latest.  I continue my therapy and hopefully will continue to get better.  Again, thank you for your prayers and support.  Peace and love....Ron
